Grey cast iron (EN-GJL)

Cast iron with lamellar graphite (also known as grey cast iron due to its grey fracture surface) is the most commonly used casting material in the world. The reason for these physical properties is the structure of the cast iron - the carbon in grey cast iron is present in lamellae. We manufacture EN-GJL 150-300 in accordance with DIN EN 1561.

Phosphorus alloyed cast iron

We manufacture GJL-P 10 - P30 (including P30 Samson) in accordance with UIC 832 V and other customer specifications.
As Europe's leading manufacturer and supplier of brake block soles and brake blocks for rail transport, we produce alloyed cast iron with a phosphorus content of up to 3 %. Phosphorus increases wear resistance, especially at high temperatures. It also protects the friction partner from melting and thus from excessive wear.

Ductile iron

Spheroidal graphite cast iron (also known as ductile cast iron due to its good mechanical properties) is the most commonly used casting material in Europe. Thanks to its steel-like properties at significantly lower costs, many material optimisations have been implemented in the past, sometimes with significant cost savings. The reason for these outstanding properties is the microstructure of the cast iron - the carbon in nodular cast iron is present in spheres, which significantly reduces the notch effect compared to cast iron with lamellar graphite and enables steel-like properties. We manufacture EN-GJS 400-700 in accordance with DIN EN 1563 and also offer annealing of our castings.
